Nomasi Thuketane | Admin Assistant

My name is Nomasi Thuketana, I am a mother of four beautiful girls, and I live in Nkowankowa Township with my family. Before joining KTD196, I was working at Wimpy Restaurant as a waiter/cashier for 13 years. One day, while I was working, in came a lady who for the first time listened to my story and she understood me, I was working but I had a vision of empowering myself more, if I can be given an opportunity. I felt the need to help, I was willing to work hard, despite my educational levels.

Never in a million years did I think I can be given a chance to further my education, work and learn, grow and develop many skills, including personal development, I was struggling very much, in only doing things my way, without considering other people feelings. I was able to grow personally, and consider other people views and thoughts, and how they feel and be patient in everything.

Being in an organization like Keep the Dream196, you find strength in your self-esteem. Working and learning about the Children’s program has helped me as a mother to understand my children and help them regardless of any challenges that may come tomorrow in their future, having a positive attitude in any circumstances they find themselves in helps to overcome the problems.

This is a life-changing opportunity to motivate other people around me, especially young children because they are tomorrow’s future, no matter their background, education is very important and is the best gift you could ever obtain in this life.

I am happy to be part of a local NGO that runs different programs in supporting children and encourages parents to support their children’s education and empower women’s in their communities to sustain themselves, by providing for their families financially through one of our Programs- Self Help Groups.

Thank you very much because I am now a changed person who is patient and learning every day, and a better parent, I get to spend time with my kids and be involved in daily life activities. I wish to be a good example, that it is never too late to start all over again in life, if you are willing to adapt to change for the better, for good.

KTD196, may your work continue to bring blessings of change, touching many people’s lives.

I never thought that one day I would be given an opportunity to change myself, I have always wanted to make a difference in this life, it is never easy to make a life-changing decision to quit a good paying job but I am happy, I did because it was the best decision ever. I have worked in a restaurant because I must provide for my family, now am achieving in all areas of my life. Thank you for being a pillar of strength, Keep the Dream196 NGO.
