My name is Netaly Muhlari I am 40 years old. I came to Keep the Dream196 as a volunteer at the end of the year in 2023 and in January 2024 I became a CF (Community Facilitator) for Self Help Group, I was happy to join Keep the Dream family. I was then introduced to the Scouts programme for the first time, I had no idea what scouting was all about, but I had great support. I was guided and I was happy to learn new things; it was a great and fun experience.
I then started to support 1st Timangeni and 1st Nyanyukani. The joy of seeing children happy in Scouts makes me happy as well, even though it gets difficult at times but through God’s grace it is possible. I was also introduced to another programme called SHG (Self Help Groups). I started growing in these two programmes I was leading and God helped me to balance these jobs in a mighty way. I was open to learning, to be corrected and to be flexible. I gained a lot of confidence and a lot of courage; and started to see that our failures in life as human beings is because we don’t believe in ourselves since every time you want to try out something new in your life you have that fear inside but I thank God I had great support, even though I was here for less than a year.
In August 2024, we were informed that there is a PO (Project Officer) position that was vacant, deep inside I knew I didn’t yet qualify because I had just joined Keep the Dream. None the less I took a leap of faith and decided to apply for this position, I left it all in Gods hands. Interviews where then conducted at a later stage, I was so scared, but I then told myself its better if I failed knowing than I tried. The day I received my feedback for the interview that I got the job I was vey excited, from this day my life changed forever. It gave me so much joy knowing that I started from just being a volunteer, then CF now to being a PO. Even though I wasn’t ready for the job but through guidance and teachings from my fellow beautiful PO Nkulu Majola, I am enjoying this job instead of fearing it. I get to learn new things every day.
May the Lord help the family of Keep the Dream196 to grow, because there are still a lot of Netalys out there, and a lot of kids that don’t have a voice, they need Keep the Dream to speak for them, stand for the and fight for them so they can grow and be best. I thank Keep the Dream management for giving me the opportunity to bring out the best version of myself, to help me discover my strengths and weaknesses and for that I will forever be grateful.
